Chris graduated from Downers Grove South High School in 2001.  As a three sport athlete at South, Chris was selected both All Conference and All Area in baseball.  He went on to play football and baseball at Beloit College.  At Beloit, Chris was the starting catcher for 4 years and is still in the top 5 all time at Beloit in number of base stealers thrown out and highest percentage of runners thrown out.  In 2005, he was named Beloit College’s Player of the Year.   Also at Beloit, Chris was a first team All Conference tight end and kicker.

Chris started training as a private instructor soon after under the tutelage of Justin Stone and has been giving private lessons since.  Chris’ main focus is hitting and catching instruction with an emphasis on video analysis.

Chris is now the coach of Elite Baseball Training’s 15U National Travel Team.  The team is comprised of some of the best talent in the state of Illinois and will play on a National stage at both the 15 and 16U levels.

As a coach and instructor, Chris’ number 1 goal is to teach the game of baseball the right way, with passion and dedication to making each player the best that they can be.

Coach Stone’s comments on Chris LaPorta“Chris has been one of my best students learning how to teach the game.  He has a unique ability to break down the swing with and without video analysis.  In fact, without the video, he often sees things that I don’t even catch.  Not many people have that eye and that knack for being able to break down mechanics like he does – he just ‘gets it.’  Chris has been a pleasure to work with, because he is always wanting to learn, which is what makes him a great instructor.”
