Defense, Hitting

Josh played his prep ball at Whitney Young High School in Chicago. He moved on collegiately to Lawrence University in Appleton, WI where he played infield and outfield.
Josh has been coaching at his Alma-mater, Whitney Young, since 2005. He is the sophomore head coach and assistant varsity coach. Whitney Young has been one of the city’s strongest programs during this time. Josh’s sophomore teams have won two city championships and been runner up twice during his tenure, while the varsity teams have won three city championships since 2007.
Josh also graduated from the Jim Evans Umpire Academy in Kissimmee, FL in 2005, and umpires games regularly on the north side.
Coach Stone’s comments on Josh Locks – “Josh has a great reputation as a baseball guy on the north side. He’s a baseball junkie and its not uncommon for you to see him every day at the park coaching, umpiring or still playing. He is a high energy, knowledgeable, coach that still studies the game. It’s no wonder why he’s been so successful as a coach.”
